Downtown Huntsville was flooded with people as the annual Midnight Madness event took place. This year was epic, with street performers leaving passersby in awe, musicians setting the tone with great tunes, dancers dancing the night away and all kinds of amazing deals offered by local merchants.
This is the 40th year for the event, and the Downtown Huntsville BIA went above and beyond to make Midnight Madness a night to remember.
Doppler’s Laura MacLean was in on the action. Check out some of the moments her wandering eye managed to capture:
- Stefan Ottenbrite gives the thumbs up while Jimmy Arnot, Jane Simpson and her daughter Dana check out some of the deals he was offering at his booth.
- Jesse Vanderlans, Catrina King and Sable were dressed to impress at the big event.
- The drum circle, led by Bazza, is always a hit and this year was no exception!
- Local artist Jennifer Snowden brings superheroes to life with her one-of-a-kind drawings.
- The Muskoka Dance Academy never disappoints…
- See? It’s hard not to watch!
- Three-and-a-half-year-old Cavalera Gonder was rather pleased with the outcome of her painted Minion look.
- Camron Chevrier definitely stood out in the crowd…
- Lukas Stark is a magician with all the right tricks. He was a huge hit among the younger crowd.
- Dancers from JJ Dance got their groove on and the audience loved it.
- It was a balancing act for this lovely street performer…

I had a blast drawing superheroes this year thanks everyone who dropped by to say hello 🙂
I thought the event was amazing! Way more entertainment than usual (the dance displays were great and never seemed to stop), the music was awesome, and there was tons of people. I walked up and down the strip three times from 6pm to 11pm – great event!
