On September 30, 2025, at 12:24 a.m., police were on patrol on Main Street West in Huntsville, where they observed a pick-up truck driving erratically and well below the posted speed limit.
Once the vehicle was stopped as part of a sobriety traffic stop, police say they detected an odour of alcohol and suspected the driver had alcohol in his body. The driver provided a roadside alcohol screening sample and registered a Fail.
As a result of the investigation, Mitchel YEARLY, 25 years old of Huntsville Ontario, has been charged with:
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero
· Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt
The accused was released and is to appear on November 4, 2025 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.
The accused was also issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
