November kicks off a series of mental health talks at the library

The Huntsville Public Library will kick off a series on mental health talks in November, featuring six mental health care practitioners.

“As we see a need for community health and mental health growing, we see a gap that the Huntsville Public Library can fill in bringing subject matter experts who present on various topics around mental and community health, explained Saleem Hall, library community engagement coordinator. “These free evening events are open to all,” he added.

The first one takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.: Understanding Neurodivergence, including autism, dyslexia, and ADHD, with Warren Broad, CCHT, ADHD-CSP Mental Health Counsellor.

  • Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.: Community Wellness: Mental Health and Culture presented by Aussa Penniall, Community Wellness Program Coordinator, Métis Nation of Ontario.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.: Exploring Depression, Anxiety and Stress, presented by Lacey DeCaire-McCabe MSW RSW.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 25 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.: Building Self-Compassion While Coping in Today’s World, preseted by Carmen Theobald, Founder/Director of Horse Sense North and Lee Merlkey, RP (qualifying), RSSW.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.: Concussions 101, with Dr. Brandon Zuccato, clinical neuropsychologist based in Huntsville.
