The Rotary Club of Huntsville is seeking nominations for its 2018 Community Recognition Award.
The award celebrates an individual in the community who deserves recognition for their service in our town, someone who goes above and beyond, shows compassion, dedication and commitment to this town and its residents, and who exemplifies Rotary’s motto of “service above self”.
Other past Paul Harris Fellow award recipients have included Randy and Tracy Robinson, former owners of Robinson’s Your Independent Grocer, Jan Nyquist, owner of Pipefusion, and volunteer extraordinaire Wendy Dingman.
Nomination Criteria:
- Nominees must be a resident of the Huntsville community (including Emsdale, Dwight and Dorset)
- Nominees can be any age
- It is an honour to be recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow, therefore the nominee as a non-Rotarian should hold the same values and ethics as those of Rotary members:
-The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
-High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each person’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
-The application of the ideal of service in each person’s personal, business, and community life;
-The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world of fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
Paul Harris was Rotary’s founder. The award in his name was created to recognize the contributions and service of Rotarians to their club, but clubs are also encouraged to bestow the award on non-Rotarian community members who embody the spirit of Rotary in contributions to their community.
Nominations for the 2018 award must be submitted no later than June 8, 2018. The nomination form is available here.
