New telemedicine walk-in clinic in Huntsville

Huntsville’s Hometown IDA now offers a telemedicine walk-in clinic which is particularly helpful for those who do not have a family doctor in the community.

Patients are able to access a licensed Canadian physician via video consultation covered by OHIP. Patients are able to get their prescriptions renewed, and get referrals as well as requisitions for exams such as X-rays and blood work.

Pharmacy owner Wasim Daoud said the drugstore has seen a steady stream of patients seeking telehealth. He’s also heard from Huntsville physicians thankful for the service because it helps alleviate non-emergency demand on Huntsville hospital’s emergency department.

To make an appointment ahead of time and avoid having to wait, or for more information about the clinic, call  705-789-2561.
