Muskoka, for the 4th year, you have proven us right.

Not being able to track numbers until all boxes are in, touched up and allocated, we blindly put our faith in our community, Muskoka, to help us reach our goal and that faith remains intact.

With the greatest of pride, this Christmas we are delivering 1,296 boxes to women in Muskoka needing  reassurance and hope.

Our success is your success and we thank:

Our core group who begin late summer setting our current plan, writing letters, working on logistics;

The many service clubs in Muskoka who with all the good they do all year, find merit in our project and support us financially;

The drop off locations who give us space and staff to receive the shoeboxes;

The many knitters who work all year creating, meaning that all boxes contain “something warm”;

The grocery stores whose donations include chocolate ensuring all boxes have “something yummy”;

The retailers whose generosity includes helping with the “something sparkly” to complete the boxes;

The leaders and business owners in our community who share this project with their staff and customers, making our project their project;

The parents and teachers who work with the youth, supporting our project and instilling the importance of giving at all ages;

The media who help us spread the word and encourage the support;

The team of volunteers who pick up, who sort, wrap, deliver, and the hours you dedicate to your task is behind the scenes but the forefront of our success;

The agencies receiving the boxes who tirelessly support these women all year long;

The recipients of these boxes for not giving up, being strong, and continuing on; and

To anyone who hosts or attends a shoebox party, donates to a box, shops for a box, fills a box or makes a cash contribution, the biggest of thanks and know that your shoebox is going into the hands of a woman in Muskoka this Christmas, who is looking for hope and needing a reason to believe that 2019 will be a better year for them.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all,
The Muskoka Shoebox Project for Women
