The Muskoka Royals Ringette U19B team brought home Gold this past weekend at the Lower Ontario Ringette Championships in London, ON.
This team has played together for many years, this one being their final one together. They were the underdogs going into the weekend, but made it through the round robin and into the semis on Sunday.
After a hard-fought battle, they won and moved into the final against Markham. After a full game of intense back-and-forth play, the two teams went into overtime. Six nail-biting minutes in, Muskoka’s Danica Scribner scored the winning goal with double assists from Ryley Reid and Jolene Allair. Harley McIssac, the team’s goaltender, was stellar between the pipes and played her heart out all weekend.
In their final year together, they had a storybook ending! Huge congrats to this team of amazing, determined players!
