The Muskoka Pride flag was raised at Huntsville Town Hall today (July 24) as part of Muskoka Pride Festival events. Six other communities across Muskoka also hosted a flag raising. The flags will fly to increase awareness of Muskoka’s LGBTQ community and to promote opportunities for inclusivity within Muskoka that overcome heterosexism and homo/bi/trans-phobia, providing a safe community for LGBT people.
The Muskoka Pride Festival kicked-off with a barbecue in River Mill Park on Friday, July 21 (see Doppler’s coverage of the event here: https://doppleronline.ca/huntsville/huntsville-showed-off-pride-river-mill-park-kick-off-annual-muskoka-pride-festival/) and continues with events across Muskoka until July 30.
