BOTR music festival 5

Music + park = an afternoon of rockin’ fun

If you love music, River Mill Park is the place to be this Saturday (June 9). The popular, homegrown road race, Band on the Run, is followed by an equally loved, post-race music festival. But it’s not just for the athletes (their admission is included in their race registration). Anyone can purchase a ticket to enjoy the fun.

This year’s line-up kicks off with past and present Soul, Funk and R’n’B hits courtesy of Soul45, featuring alumni and current members of the Huntsville High School Song Project.

Then you can rock out to Bon Jovi tribute band, Keep the Faith, for a little bit of ‘Bad Medicine’ before you go down in a ‘Blaze of Glory’. (Check out video of them below).

Finally, headliner Jonesy, a Canadian cover band from the Niagara region, wraps things up with some of the latest pop songs and classics from the past that will have you dancing like no one’s watching.

The music festival is licensed, so don’t forget your i.d.! And the forecast calls for all sun, so bring your sunscreen, too.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by an adult with a ticket. Race volunteers get in for free. Learn more and get your tickets here.
