Municipalities recognize those who have died in workplace injuries

Today, municipalities and community members are recognizing those who have died as a result of a workplace injury or illness.

“It’s a day for us to renew our commitment to improving health and safety in our workplace,” states the Township of Lake of Bays.”Each workplace tragedy affects loved ones, family members, friends, and co-workers. Join the Township of Lake of Bays in taking a moment to remember and honour those impacted by these tragedies and work together to prevent further injuries and loss of life.”

The Town of Huntsville is lowering the flags at all municipal facilities today, Friday, April 28, 2023, in recognition of the National Day of Mourning, to remember workers who have suffered work-related disability, disease, and death.

“Every worker has the right to return home safe and sound at the end of each workday. By working together – with employers, workers, and our health and safety partners – we can prevent work injuries and deaths before they occur,” adds the Township.
