Municipal election closes today; 25 per cent have voted so far

Today, October 22, is your final chance to vote in the 2018 municipal election.

As of this morning, 24.67 per cent of registered voters have cast ballots. In the 2014 municipal election, 46.33 per cent had voted by the time polls closed.

The voting period opened on October 12 and closes at 8:00 p.m. tonight. Results will be announced—and shared on Doppler—shortly after the online and telephone polls close.

Electors who didn’t receive a Voter Information Letter in the mail and those wishing to vote with the assistance of an election official can visit the election office in Club 55 at 37 Main Street East to vote. That location is equipped with touch screens, computers and telephones.
