Jeffrey Remmelgas

Missing 19-year-old, formerly from Huntsville, found dead in Kingston

Last week, Kingston Police asked for the public’s assistance in locating missing 19-year-old Jeffrey Remmelgas. He had not been seen since Wednesday, October 11, 2017 and family and friends were concerned about his well-being.

Remmelgas is a former Huntsville resident and went to Huntsville High School; a family member said that Remmelgas was in the military and based in Kingston.

Yesterday, Kingston police reported that they began a search in the 1500 block of Princess Street in Kingston for a missing male and at approximately 3:00 p.m. the male was found deceased. A family member has confirmed that the man is Jeffrey Remmelgas. Friends and former HHS students have taken to social media to express their shock and sadness at the news.

The scene is being held as the Kingston Police Major Crime Unit in conjunction with the Eastern Ontario Coroners Office investigate the cause of death. At this time no foul play is suspected.
