A tasty meal and a few kind words may seem to be small things but they can have a tremendous impact on those receiving them.

On Monday, March 6, Mayor Scott Aitchison helped a Meals on Wheels volunteer make deliveries in an effort to raise awareness for the local Meals on Wheels program and highlight its importance for area seniors.
Organized by Muskoka Seniors, the region’s Meals on Wheels program has delivered more than 3100 meals this year alone to seniors in our community.
“Meals on Wheels enables us to reach out to the community and deliver nutritious meals, friendly visits and provide support to our seniors who are living in their homes. This support encourages their independence,” said Muskoka Seniors Program Coordinator, Angela Barager. The program runs with dedicated volunteers and donations are always welcome, she added.
