A Pakenham man has been convicted after driving a company bucket truck while impaired in Muskoka.
Reginald Wilson, 34, appeared in a Bracebridge courtroom where he pleaded guilty to driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
Court heard that on Nov. 16, 2025, at approximately 2:56 p.m., Huntsville OPP received a complaint about a man asleep inside a work bucket truck parked in the LCBO parking lot in Dwight.
The vehicle later left the parking lot and travelled onto Highway 35, with the caller providing police with the licence plate number.
An officer on Highway 60 located the vehicle and observed it swerving several times before following it onto Highway 11. Police conducted a traffic stop, where Wilson told officers he had only been taking a nap.
Officers located empty alcohol cans inside the vehicle, along with remnants of what they believed to be cocaine.
Wilson provided breath samples that registered 110 milligrams of alcohol — above the legal limit.
The court also heard Wilson has a prior impaired driving conviction.
He was fined $2,000, placed on 12 months of probation, and issued a two-year driving prohibition.
