MAHC seeks two patient/family advisors for committee

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is seeking volunteer applications to fill two vacancies on its Patient and Family Advisory Committee effective September 1, 2017.

MAHC’s Patient and Family Advisory Committee was officially formed in January 2017 and has been meeting monthly as an advisory resource to the organization. The committee is a venue for patients and families to provide input into policy and program development, patient safety education, and communications to patients and families.

“We are looking for people who have had a recent experience either as a patient or as a family member of a patient who received care at MAHC,” says Karen Fleming, Chief Quality & Nursing Executive. “The input only they can provide is so valuable to improving care and the overall patient experience.”

Anyone interested in applying is asked to complete the online application form prior to Friday, June 30. The application form is accessible on the home page of the MAHC website. For more information about the committee and to learn more about the recruitment process and the qualifications required, visit www.mahc.ca and click on the “About MAHC” tab, then the Community Engagement section to find the Patient & Family Advisory Committee webpage.

I am hoping to never have any more patient experiences in day surgery or emergency at Huntsville Hospital!
