MAHC mum about sudden departure of senior staff member, Harold Featherston

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC), which manages both the Huntsville and Bracebridge hospitals, has been silent on the sudden departure of its chief executive, diagnostics & planning director Harold Featherston, who also served as deputy CAO.

Harold Featherston

Featherston is conspicuously missing from the organization’s website and unconfirmed rumours circulating since last week allege that MAHC CAO Natalie Bubela sent an abrupt email out to key community members last week indicating that Featherston was no longer employed at MAHC, effective immediately.

Attempts to reach Featherston have been unsuccessful and MAHC responded to repeated inquiries about his employment status by stating that “Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare cannot comment on personnel matters.”

Featherston has been a key member of the organization’s hospital capital planning process. According to his LinkedIn profile, he’s been with the organization for the past 17 years.

Harold Featherston no longer appears as part of the senior leadership team on MAHC’s website.

What kind of reporting is: “unconfirmed rumours circulating since last week allege“? Reminds of a John Oliver piece talking about the phrase: “it could be true that…” I like the line from the old TV show: “just the facts, m’aam”.
