Local realtor Jay Richardson continues to support Muskoka Women’s Advocacy Group

Jay Richardson, Real Estate Broker, Royal LePage Richardson Team recently presented a cheque for $2,500 to Rachelle Walker, Executive Director of Muskoka Women’s Advocacy Group (MWAG).

Jay Richardson is a strong supporter of the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation. She is one of the top ten per cent of donors who provide financial gifts to The Shelter Foundation.

Richardson says she supports the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation because she believes that every woman and child should live without fear of abuse.

“We need to stop the cycle of violence,” Richardson says. “By donating I hope to help in a small way women who are trying to rebuild their lives and allow their children to grow up and not become victims of abuse or abusers themselves. Seeing women make positive changes for their future and the future of their children makes me passionate about this cause. I am grateful to have such a committed organization as MWAG in our community. Abuse touches us all and being able to helping those in my own community is important to me.”

Royal LePage is the only Canadian real estate company with its own charitable foundation. The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation is Canada’s largest public foundation dedicated exclusively to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention programs. Every dollar raised goes directly to helping the more than 50,000 women and children who are served each year by the shelters and support programs. Since 1998, the Shelter Foundation has raised more than $27 million.

On an annual basis, the shelter program supports approximately 200 local women’s shelters and 40-50 violence prevention programs through national partnerships.
