Designer Lighting Sale Hits Port Carling

The Artisan Trading Post is clearing out its warehouse in a major sale event that’s already turning heads among designers, builders, and cottage owners alike. Known for its curated selection of handcrafted, ethically sourced home décor, the Port Carling-based store is offering its biggest sale to date—featuring stunning, handwoven light fixtures priced below wholesale.

“These are some of the most beautiful pieces we’ve ever had in the shop,” says Jon Juane, General Manager of the Artisan Trading Post. “But this sale is about more than just moving inventory—it’s about making space to grow our partnerships with Canadian makers and continue supporting the local economy and global communities.”

The light fixtures, woven by hand in the Manabí region of Ecuador and wired locally by Sifft Electric in Muskoka, have become a design favourite among interior stylists looking to add warmth and texture to modern and cottage-style spaces. The lights are made with natural mimbre, come in two sizes (Large and Extra-Large), and feature four standard E26 sockets. They are eSAFE-certified and ready to install.

“These are fixtures that designers use in showpiece homes,” says Juane. “They bring light and character to a space—and when someone buys one, they’re also investing in the preservation of artisan crafts and supporting charitable initiatives at home and abroad.”

With their classic-meets-contemporary design, the handwoven chandeliers are often the focal point in mid-century modern homes and upscale cottages. And while they’re sad to see these beloved pieces go, Juane says the decision is all part of a larger plan.

“Politics and shifting economics have pushed us to adapt over the past three years,” he explains. “But it’s also opened up new opportunities to focus on deeper collaborations with local creators and give back even more to the communities we serve.”

Alongside handcrafted home décor, the Artisan Trading Post is also known for its carefully sourced vintage and antique goods, which Juane hand-selects during his travels across Canada and as far away as France. These unique finds are woven seamlessly into the store’s curated collection—bringing history, character, and charm into Muskoka homes and cottages.

Proceeds from the sale will go directly toward the Artisan Trading Post’s local and global charity partners. These include mental health and crisis support initiatives in Muskoka, and youth development programs through Youth for Christ across Canada and in Ecuador.

“It’s incredible, some of the work we’ve been able to do globally and right here in Muskoka,” says Juane. “When someone buys from us, they’re not just taking home a beautiful object—they’re becoming part of something bigger.”

The warehouse sale runs while supplies last. Designers, homebuilders, and anyone with an eye for quality and character are encouraged to visit early for the best selection.
