The Junior C Otters had much to celebrate at their annual banquet on Saturday, March 24. Though the team had its ups and downs through the season, they persevered into the first round of the playoffs where they narrowly missed the chance to move on to round two.

As this season comes to a close, the banquet was a way to say thank you to those who were involved in the day-to-day and game day events for Huntsville’s community team, while recognizing the achievements of the players.

President, Monty Clouthier shared many thanks, among them to the team sponsors for their support of the team every season, to the game day volunteers for their dedication to the Otters on game days, and to the parents, guardians and billet families.

A special thanks was given to the staff behind the scenes that work for the players as well as the team: Brian Crozier, VP and Director of Hockey Operations, Steve Garner, Business Manager, and Debbie Reynolds, Secretary.

The season would not have been possible without the outstanding coaches and bench support, which consisted of Brent Tomlinson, GM and Co-Coach, Marc Gagnon, Co-Coach, Bob Mortimer, Trainer, and Tim Horton, Equipment Manager.

“Bravo! Your commitment, hard work and values absolutely shone this year,” said Reynolds.

And, finally, thanks went out to the players, ‘the team that never quit.’ The players were determined to work together and play hard every game until the buzzer sounded.
