Cemetery decoration day

Join the Town of Huntsville for Cemetery Decoration Day this Sunday

Everyone is invited to join the Town of Huntsville for Huntsville’s second annual Cemetery Decoration Day, 1:00-3:00pm on Sunday, July 17.

Decoration Day is a time to celebrate and pay respect to your loved ones, enjoy the fellowship of neighbours doing the same, or just to come, explore the history of the area and even if you are not connected to anyone interred there, to appreciate the peace and beauty of the resting places of those who lived before us.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to refresh or replace decorations on your family plot or to reminisce with fellow community members,” said Colleen MacDonald, Manager of Parks and Cemeteries for the Town of Huntsville. “It’s also a great time to familiarize yourself with an important part of our community that you may not have visited before.”

Huntsville’s five active cemeteries are:

  • Hutcheson Cemetery – 485 Muskoka Rd. 3
  • Ilfracombe – 4101 Ravenscliffe Rd.
  • Locks Cemetery – 320 Brunel Rd
  • Madill Church – 254 Old Muskoka Rd
  • Stephenson- 280 Muskoka Rd. 10
