It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joan McCaw, our beloved mother and grandmother, who passed away peacefully on April 22nd, 2025, in Huntsville, Ontario, at the age of 88.
Born on June 5, 1936 in Woodstock, Ontario. Joan’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife for over 55 years to Ken McCaw (predeceased), loving mother to Kelly (Cheryl) and Susan (predeceased) and grandmother of Kaitlin and Michael (Kiran). She is predeceased by her sister Gail and brother Doug.
After 30 years of service at Bell Canada, Joan retired in 1992 with her husband. She was an active volunteer with Trinity United Church, Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary, and numerous other causes. Joan and Ken travelled the world, and when Joan was home she loved sewing, baking, and spending time with friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Joan’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. Messages of condolence can be left at www.billingsleyfuneralhome.com
Joan will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
Many thanks to the doctors and nurses who cared for her on the South Wing of the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital during her last week.

To Kelly and the family of Mrs. McCaw,
I was very lucky to grow up in Huntsville, with people like Mrs. McCaw being involved with many things I did as a child. She was one of the leaders of CGIT at Trinity United Church. I enjoyed that very much. The many people like Mrs. McCaw set a good example for the rest of our lives. Thank you and rest in peace.
Sincerely,
Sandra Austin.
Kelly, Cheryl and family,
My deepest condolences on the loss of your wonderful mother and grandmother. She was always warm and welcoming, whenever I came by, with Susan, and often had an interesting craft or decorating project underway.
A very special lady!
