It’s Wayback Wednesday: Dancing in the streets

Welcome to Wayback Wednesday sponsored by Cavalcade Color Lab! Every week, we’ll be sharing a vintage photo and asking our readers to chime in with anything you can recall about the photo, other related memories, or even a funny caption. Have some vintage photos of your own? Send them to [email protected] and we may share them with our readers!

This week, we turn to Doppler readers for help. Do you recognize any of the people in this photo or know what they’re up to? Can you help us determine the date it was taken?

Last week we shared this photo with you:

Many Doppler readers were easily able to identify the year the top photo—actually a postcard—in this then-and-now comparison was taken thanks to the movies playing at the Capitol Theatre. Both Blues Brothers and Airplane were released in the early summer of 1980 (June 20 and July 2 respectively). Written on the back of the postcard was: “This is the main street with many fine shops, restaurants, etc. Huntsville lies in the heart of Ontario’s world famous Muskoka Lakes Vacation Wonderland.”
