It’s an event-packed weekend of awesomeness in Huntsville

It is one jam-packed weekend of fun for those lucky enough to be in Huntsville. In addition to our usual awesomeness, Huntsville is playing host to a number of special events this week. Here is a run down of what’s going on.

Rotary Dockfest

The 4th annual Rotary DockFest takes place Saturday July 9, from 8 am to 4 pm, along Huntsville’s historic downtown waterfront. The day gets started with a pancake breakfast at River Mill Park beginning at 8 am. The parade of specially decorated bathtubs will begin making its way down the Main Street at 11 am. The first of three heats begins at noon with bathtubs furiously racing through obstacles on the Muskoka River as they make their way to the finish line.

The event will have something for everyone. There will be a Rotary BBQ, beer tent, arts and crafts for the little ones, as well as a bouncy castle and various other activities for kids. There will also be live music, creating the perfect atmosphere for a day of fun and excitement along Huntsville’s waterfront.

Art SplashArt Splash

A free fun-filled afternoon of interactive arts and crafts for kids of all ages happens in River Mill Park on Saturday as well, from 11 am to 2 pm. Staff of Camp Tawingo’s Day Program put on the event in support of the Festival of the Arts.

The Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve is the trail runner’s dream with its challenging terrain that takes runners alongside pristine lakes, through a wetland with its tier of beaver dams, up and over some steep inclines and either tiptoeing or splashing through the occasional creek or mud hole.
