The IronKids Race is back in Huntsville on July 9 with a course that gives children a chance to experience all the excitement of a full Ironman. Starting at Huntsville’s Main Street West and Centre Street North intersection and finishing at River Mill Park the event will challenge competitors with a run that is complete with cheering fans, hundreds of participants and medals.
There are three different races to challenge kids; a 500-metre course for those five-and-under, a 1-kilometre course for those aged six to 10 and a 1-kilometre course for those aged 11 to 14.
Myke Malone, General Manager of the Ironman 70.3 Ancillary Events committee, said the event gives children the chance to feel the excitement of a major athletic event right.
One of everyone’s favorite parts of the 2015 Ironman Muskoka was the IronKids race and we’re bringing it back better than ever. This fun run drives right down the main street of downtown Huntsville.
The 2015 IronKids race in Huntsville had roughly 300 racers aged three-14 running through Huntsville.
Cost to enter the IronKids Race is $20 in advance at this website and $25 on race day. All participants will receive an official IronKid T-Shirt and finisher medal.
The event is held in conjunction with the Ironman 70.3 Muskoka set for July 10.
