Impaired driver under house arrest after crashing into house

An impaired river will be off the road for the next three years after a dangerous collision.

Bradley Meredith, 42, recently appeared in a Bracebridge courtroom to plead guilty to drinking and driving.

Court heard that on Aug. 11, 2024 at 5:53 pm, police received a call about a collision on Muskoka Road 3 North in Huntsville.

A witness reported a vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed before the driver lost control and crashed into a residence. Court heard there was extensive damage to both the vehicle and the home, but no injuries were reported.

Police suspected the driver, Meredith, was impaired and a breathalyzer test came back with readings of 178 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.

The court heard Meredith has a criminal record.

He was sentenced to 60 days under house arrest, two years of probation and a three year driving ban.
