Ice storm update from the Town of Huntsville for March 11, 2026

A Freezing Rain Warning by Environment Canada continues for the Town of Huntsville for March 11, forecasting a prolonged period of freezing rain with ice buildup of 5 to 10 mm throughout the day until this evening.

Public Works crews have been performing winter maintenance operations on primary roads and sidewalks, making their way to secondary routes. Residents and visitors are asked to avoid non-essential travel and monitor weather and local news channels for updates as conditions may change throughout the day.

Please be advised of the following facility and program updates:

  • Town Hall and the Huntsville Public Library will be closed to the public this morning and will reopen at noon.
  • Canada Summit Centre is open
  • Town of Huntsville programming will continue as planned, however cancellations may occur. Residents are encouraged to call customer service at 705-789-6421 in advance of their scheduled program.

The Town of Huntsville is continuing to monitor conditions as this weather system moves through our area and would like to thank the community for their patience as our teams work safely to perform winter operations.
