Huntsville OPP asks residents to be welcoming and safe during Ontario 55+ Winter Games

Members of the Huntsville OPP Detachment want to welcome all the athletes, volunteers, and visitors to Huntsville during the Ontario 55+ Winter Games being held from February 3-5, 2026, at numerous venues throughout Huntsville, Lake of Bays, Bracebridge, and Burks Falls.

With the influx of people into the community, the Huntsville OPP asks everyone to be mindful of the expected increase in people walking about and for motorists to be patient when driving to and from venues.

Although not something we all think about every day, please ensure your vehicles are locked and not left unattended while running. Please ensure your vehicle is cleared of snow so pedestrians can see your headlights and your visibility is clear while driving.

The Canada Summit Centre is the focal point during the day as far as parking goes, especially as the Huntsville High School is open during the week. We ask you to be patient and park in designated areas only, as we do not want vehicle collisions to occur.

The Huntsville OPP members will be at various events and want to encourage everyone to come out and represent our communities with pride and enthusiasm.
