Huntsville adult soccer league gets underway

The first week of the regular season for the Huntsville Soccer Club Adult Experienced League saw two very different matches.

The first game on May 24 featured an incredibly lopsided scoreline with Team Green defeating Team Red 5-1. Green received a pair of goals by Nick Laning, while Steve Fairhall notched Red’s only tally.

The score flattered Green who were the beneficiaries of questionable decisions by an aging referee (name withheld for legal purposes) and two favourable bounces. Perhaps Green deserved the victory, but not by that score. The Reds will now have to quickly regroup for Week 2 and find more fluidity in their line-up before taking on Team Orange.

In the other week one match, Team Orange lost a heartbreaker 2-1 to Team Blue. The closely fought game could have gone either way and, by all accounts, perhaps a draw would have been a just result. However, as we all know, life isn’t always fair or just and for now they are winless.
