The Purple Boot Campaign is an important source of income for Hospice Huntsville. These symbolic purple boots can be seen at local businesses and organizations raising not only funds but also awareness for Hospice Huntsville.
The campaign to raise needed operational funds for Hospice Huntsville/Algonquin Grace officially began on March 8, 2023 with a special kick-off held at Chistmas Tyme. The Lake of Bays Garden Centre was also there selling purple tulips in support of the organization (see video below).
“The launch of the Purple Boot campaign signifies that spring and Hike for Hospice are just around the corner. This meaningful fundraising campaign is an opportunity to reflect on those we have lost while connecting with the support of our community. We are so fortunate to have our community partners host Purple Boots and raise funds and awareness in support of Hospice Huntsville,” according to Executive Director Rebecca Ellerson.
One hundred per cent of the proceeds of the Purple Boot Campaign donations go towards the Hike for Hospice Huntsville goal of raising $50,000. Online donations can be made by clicking on this link: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/PurpleBootforHospiceHuntsville
Community members can also support Hospice Huntsville’s efforts to raise funds by running their own Purple Boot fundraiser and/or using the tell-a-friend system. Reach out to your friends and family no matter where they are. The further the reach, the more opportunity for success which means the more the organization is able to assist others. Hospice Huntsville is asking that you please share this fundraiser through word of mouth or your social media channels.

Hospice Huntsville provides compassionate end-of-life care to residents and their families in the setting of their choice. All services are offered free of charge. Annually, Hospice Huntsville must raise 60%, or $1,800/day, of its operating budget. Every donation they receive can continue to make a huge difference.
On Sunday, May 7, 2023 Huntsville/Lake of Bays/Almaguin Highlands will join thousands of people across Canada, as they come together in order to raise funds for hospice palliative care programs and services. This event will also bring together those who have shared the journey through end of life with a loved one. It is a chance to remember and celebrate.

The organization provides extended support for family members/caregivers. Hospice Huntsville has been providing palliative care support to our community since 1989. The grief and bereavement program supports families and caregivers after their loved one dies. Algonquin Grace Residential Hospice welcomed their first hospice residents in January 2012. The beautiful five-bed residential hospice provides 24-hour professional, compassionate nursing and personal support.
Hospice Huntsville is a registered charity that relies on community support to raise approximately 60% of its annual operating costs in order to offer much-needed programs and services free of charge to hospice residents, their families, and members of the community.

Hospital Huntsville is a wonderful initiative,as are all Hospices. As we all know Hospices require substantial funds to build and in particular operate.Has the Hospice in Huntsville built up a an interest bearing Trust Fund from setting aside a percentage of its Fund Raisers?.If not it could certainly assist in its ongoing operations .Great work by all fund raisers!!.
