From the Huntsville OPP
The Huntsville OPP detachment would like to bring the community’s attention to the dangers of an illicit substance in the Simcoe Muskoka area.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has posted an advisory about a substance, a combination of fentanyl, tranquilizers, and other dangerous narcotics, that causes extreme sedation and a risk that the person taking the drug could stop breathing.
The Health Unit has posted on their website more details and safety messaging. Please go to https://www.simcoemuskokahealth.org/ to learn what you can do to protect yourself and those you love.
The OPP is committed to supporting safe, healthy communities for all Ontarians. We sympathize with anyone who has lost a loved one due to an opioid overdose.
You can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit your information online at www.crimestoppers.com. Crime Stoppers does not subscribe to call display, and you will remain anonymous. You will not testify in court and your information may lead to a cash reward of up to $2,000.00.
