Hawks Festival Recap – Week 2

Three Hawks teams took the floor in the second weekend of the Ontario Lacrosse Festival, all chasing that provincial championship. Once again, the Hawks battled hard, with each team showing grit, skill, and relentless effort right to the final whistle.

U11-1 (B Division)

Record: 2-1 in round robin | Semifinal Finish

After a tough opener against London, U11-1 bounced back with convincing wins over Clarington and Niagara-on-the-Lake before an exciting quarterfinal victory. Their run came to an end in the semis against a strong Cornwall squad.

  • Game 1: 3-7 Loss vs. London
  • Game 2: 10-4 Win vs. Clarington
  • Game 3: 8-3 Win vs. Niagara-on-the-Lake
  • Quarterfinals: 10-8 Win vs. Owen Sound
  • Semifinals: 1-8 Loss vs. Cornwall

Top Performers:
Kael Liadis led the charge offensively with multiple multi-goal games, supported by strong finishes from Max Guy, Jacob Rudge, Knox McLaren, Nolan Stevenson, and Chevy Cochrane.

U11-2 (E Division)

Record: 1-2 in round robin

U11-2 started strong with a close win over Mimico before battling in two tight contests that could have gone either way.

  • Game 1: 7-6 Win vs. Mimico 3
  • Game 2: 6-9 Loss vs. Kitchener 4
  • Game 3: 4-5 Loss vs. West Grey 2

Top Performers:
Xavier Dinner was a constant offensive threat, with Jasper Collins, Lorin Vandenheuvel, and Ben Stephens adding key goals throughout the weekend.

U17 (B Division)

Record: 2-1 in round robin | Semifinal Finish

The U17 Hawks combined physicality and precision, advancing through the quarterfinals before falling to Hamilton in the semis.

  • Game 1: 3-5 Loss vs. Centre Wellington
  • Game 2: 9-2 Win vs. Gloucester
  • Game 3: 6-1 Win vs. Clarington
  • Quarterfinals: 3-2 Win vs. Sarnia
  • Semifinals: 4-7 Loss vs. Hamilton

Top Performers:
Jake Earl, Hudson Francis, Avery Shirtliff, and Oren French all found the back of the net in key moments, with Koda Peltier, Carson Frasier, and Braeden Higgs adding important tallies.

Box (Indoor) Season Wrap-UpThe 2025 box lacrosse season was one to remember for the Huntsville Hawks:

  • 8 Rep teams competing this summer box season
  • 40 teams welcomed to Huntsville for our home tournament in July
  • 4 teams playing at the B level – all four making it to the semifinals at provincials

From U7 to U17, the Hawks played with pride, passion, and commitment to the game. While the box season closes, the lacrosse action doesn’t stop—Hawks Sixes registration is now open! Come be part of the exciting new Olympic version of our sport this fall.
