Harry Archibald Brear

Passed away peacefully at Fairvern Nursing Home in Huntsville, on Monday, September 22, 2025. Harry was the beloved husband of Alice (nee Russell), who predeceased Harry on June 10, 2023.

Harry was a loving and devoted father to Merna Sluman, Nancy Cole, Verna Kobylanski, Barry Brear and the late Barbara Brear.

Proud grandfather of Alicia (Frank), Amy (Dan), Matthew (Stephanie), and Madison Brear. Great-grandfather of Jacob, Bryson, and Brooklyn.

Predeceased by his parents Archie and Minnie (nee Wright) Brear, and his siblings Annie (Bill) Marshall, Frances (Herb) Gohm, Edith Brear and Clarence Brear.

Harry worked for Weldwood and the Town of Huntsville as a mechanic. He also spent countless hours in his own garage fixing everything and anything mechanical for family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors with his nephews and friends during hunting and fishing seasons. He travelled around the country with Alice in their motorhome and beloved cat Panni.

Dad had resided at Fairvern Nursing Home for the last 3 years. He was cared for by the girls — he didn’t remember their names, but he knew where they lived. Dad would say they are from Sprucedale, Kearney, Novar-towards Port-Carling! He even knew what vehicles they drove. He appreciated his special informant who kept him posted on his family’s whereabouts when they were away.

The funeral service was held at Billingsley Funeral Home, 430 Ravenscliffe Road Huntsville, ON, on Friday, September 26, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. Followed by the burial at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery. The service was officiated by Evelyn Coker.

If desired, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice, which is greatly appreciated by the family.
