If you’ve been missing Huntsville’s Habitat for Humanity ReStore and wondered where it went, wonder no more.
The store, which raises funds for local Habitat for Humanity builds, needed more space and recently moved into a new location at Huntsville Place Mall.
Although there’s still work to be done — the phones aren’t working yet, and more shelving will be arriving soon along with some new items for sale that have been donated by Habitat’s national partners to complement donations received from the community — they wanted to reopen their doors for those who have been eagerly anticipating the new space.
“Come check us out while we’re working to make it great,” says Britta Gerwin, Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North’s Director of Development and Communications.
The new location has twice the space of the old ReStore on Crescent Road — which closed October 21 — and is brighter and more welcoming. Adjacent to the front door, is a wall built by staff from old pallets (pictured in the photo above) that will feature various photos. “They worked really hard on it,” says Gerwin.
The new Huntsville ReStore location is at the back of Huntsville Place Mall and is open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. To access it, drive past The Brick at the end of the mall and around to the back. Halfway down you’ll find parking, the entrance to the ReStore, and a receiving door if you want to drop off donations.
Watch for announcements about a grand opening in the next few months. The first 200 people through the doors on that day will receive 25 per cent off their purchases.
