The Pioneer Village at Muskoka Heritage Place was raided by more than 700 costumed intruders in a massively uncoordinated attempt to relieve the property of all its candy Monday night. Among the more well-known characters in the blitz along the Great Pumpkin Trail were Harry Potter and Hermione Grainger. the Queen of Hearts, Curious George and countless miniature zombies, mummies, princesses, superheroes and zoo animals. Leading a highly unsuccessful defense were the likes of Thing 1 and Thing 2, the Tooth Fairy, Santa, and SpongeBob SquarePants and friends. Doppler was there to capture some of the fun.
- Thing 1 shared comic books with trick-or-treaters
- Thing 1 and Thing 2 were super excited to be at the MHP Pioneer Village for Huntsville Public Library
- More than 40 jack-o-lanterns line the Great Pumpkin Trail, all carved by MHP manager Ron Gostlin
- Keelyn Perlotto was an adorable Queen of Hearts
- Santa took a break from Christmas preparations to hand out candy canes and toothbrushes with the Tooth Fairy
- It was Dia de los Muertos at the barn
- Kelsey’s served up some gruesome treats
- SpongeBob SquarePants and friends (a.k.a. Falls Law Group) couldn’t wait to hand out treats
- This tiny giraffe couldn’t believe the size of these cuddly Care Bears from Moose FM
- (From left) Rikki-Lee Seburn, Sidney Demers and Linda Nault recreated Monster High for trick-or-treaters
- Someone help a poor jack-o-lantern out. Ouch.
The annual Mayor’s Choice Award for the best decorated building, as judged by Mayor Scott Aitchison, was Dia De Muertos (hosted by Lori and Matt Allen). Fabulous makeup, too!
