Grade 12 HHS student Carolyn Yungblut takes first place in public speaking contest

Carolyn Yungblut, a Grade 12 student at Huntsville High School, came first in the Senior Division and first in Best Overall District E-Public Speaking out of 42 divisions at the Legion’s Public Speaking Contest in Coldwater, Ontario on March 23rd, 2024. 

Carolyn’s speech topic covered Youth Health, Wellness, and Fitness.  The Joyce Dermott Annual Memorial Trophy will be showcased in her honour at Huntsville High School until October 2024. 

Good luck to Carolyn as she moves on to Shelburne for the semi-final speech competition on Saturday, April 20, 2024. 

Carolyn thanked the Legion for inspiring young people to take part in public speaking.
