We’re all feeling a little stressed these days as COVID-19 fatigue takes its toll, but thanks to a collaborative effort the corner of Main and Centre streets will be a little brighter this season.
Owners of the former Empire lot, the Rotary Club of Huntsville led by Peter Redwood and the Downtown Huntsville BIA, municipal staff, and businesses in the community have collaborated to put up a giant Christmas tree and brighten spirits.
Huntsville Mayor Karin Terziano referred to the initiative as a good news story. “We’re getting a great big Christmas tree to try to brighten up our COVID… year,” she told her fellow councillors at their November 29 meeting.
“We’ve had some real community spirit here,” she said of all those who have donated their time or resources towards the project.

Thank you. It is really nice on the dark nights to see this beautiful tree.
What a great idea! I’m sure it will bring a lot of smiles in our small community.
What a great idea!! Thanks to all who put themselves out to accomplish this. I am sure that it will lift everyone’s spirits. Will look out for it next week when in Huntsville doing my weekly shopping.
Thank you to everyone that helped make this terrific decoration happen. The tree will be enjoyed by so many people passing through this busy intersection. As a thank you to Rotary everyone who can should support their ongoing on-line auction. Local business have donated many great items and services to bid on. You can count on Rotary to put the proceeds to good use.
