Chelsea Davis, the former spouse of Hamilton resident Bryan Hayward, is reaching out to community members, warning that her former husband spent time in Huntsville.
In May 2025, Hamilton police issued a media release stating that they had been made aware that a Hamilton male was potentially sexually assaulting unsuspecting females.
Hamilton police launched an investigation and subsequently arrested 36-year-old Bryan Hayward from Hamilton. Hayward was charged with the following offences:

- Voyeurism
- Distribution of Intimate Images
- Assault with a Weapon
- Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Prohibited
- Fail to Comply Probation (x2)

In the release, the Hamilton police described Hayward as a white male, 5’10”, approximately 180lbs, medium build, brown hair, with an amputated left hand.
Hamilton police warned that Hayward may have contacted his alleged victims through online dating sites. They believed there could potentially be additional victims, including individuals who may not yet be aware that they had been affected. Investigators urged anyone who had any form of relationship or interaction with Hayward to contact police, as they may have information that could assist with the ongoing investigation.
Following the release, on July 3, 2025, Hamilton Police Service laid additional charges against Hayward as new information was brought forward:
- Assault (×1)
- Aggravated Sexual Assault (×12)
- Administer Noxious Substance (×13)
- Administer Overpowering/Stupefying Drug to Overcome Resistance (×12)
- Voyeurism (×5)
- Distribute Intimate Images Without Consent (×5)
Hamilton police stated that some alleged incidents may date back to before his amputation in November 2021.
The man’s former spouse reached out to this publication on July 21, 2025. She said her former husband “spent time working on cottage properties in the Huntsville region. I’m reaching out to ensure residents and seasonal workers in the area are aware of this, as there may be individuals who encountered him during that time and either have important information or may have unknowingly been at risk,” she stated. “This outreach comes from a place of deep concern for community safety. I believe the public has a right to be informed when patterns of harm may extend across regions.”
Davies said she believes her former husband began visiting Muskoka sometime in 2016. “He would stay there seasonally for at least a couple of years. I would say probably 2016, 2017, maybe 2018 would be the most years that he was there. He worked on a specific cottage that I know does rentals now. He was working on renovating it and then I believe helped rent it out as well,” she said.
Hayward is in custody awaiting trial.
