The late great Long John Baldry said “Cheryl Lescom has one of the best and biggest voices in Canada.“ Cheryl toured with Baldry and also with Ronnie Hawkins. Cheryl has played here twice before, once with the Tucson Choir Boys and another time she headlined our Women’s Blues Revue.
This will be Cheryl’s first appearance back here since 2016 and with a new show, also featuring Chuckee Zehr, a classically trained pianist with a voice reminiscent of Janis Joplin. Joining them is veteran blues guitar player Rick Taylor. Rick’s first major appearance was at the Mariposa Folk Festival in 1971 and he carried on from there to being a member of the roots music scene in southern Ontario, both with his own band and solo.
Cheryl, Chuckee and Rick are LTZ.
Jeanine and I saw them at the Orangeville Jazz and Blues Festival in June and we know this show will impress. Henri Audet is a folk singer from Quebec City. He has a career as a folk musician going back to the 1960s and has made numerous recordings. Henri will open our show at 2:45 pm.
Our shows are rain or shine. We have shelter.
You can bring your own food or beverage. The pizza oven running during intermission.
There are two more outdoor shows left after this one.
Sunday, Oct. 2, Cameo Blues Band at 3 pm and Friday, Oct, 2, The Tony D Band at 7 pm.
