Ernest William “Bill” R. Grigg

September 27, 1930 – October 27, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ernest William “Bill” R. Grigg on October 27, 2023, at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital. Bill was born in Toronto, Ontario on September 27, 1930, to parents Ernest Grigg and Lillian May Grigg (nee Williams). Bill married his wife Margaret Evelyn Grigg (nee Stillwell) on June 30, 1956.

Bill will be very missed by his wife Margaret, children Bill (Angela), Michael (Leila) and Jacqueline, eight grandchildren Kalene (Drew), Mackenzie (Ayako), Connor (Emma), Hannah, Catrina, Ryan, Jack, Issac, and one great-grandchild Charlotte.

In his younger years, Bill was a pilot of small aircraft and flew until his family became his priority. Bill was a lover of anything military, collecting memorabilia from both World Wars. Bill was also an avid wood worker and collector of antiques.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Port Sydney Community Centre on Saturday, November 25th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Memorial donations can be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. Messages of condolence can be made at www.billingsleyfuneralhome.com.

    My condolences, Bill showed me his vintage army jeep a few times, as he lived close to my parents in Port Sydney. He was a nice guy.

    So sorry to hear of the loss of a dear friend and wonderful neighbor. Bill was such a kind man and always brought a smile to the faces of many in his Community. He will be sadly be missed and our condolences go out to Margaret and family.

    Uncle Bill you made the world a better place. You and Aunt Margaret gave our family loving memories and an abiding sense of joy. I will miss this generation of the Griggs because of their positive values and sentiments. I am very fortunate to have such commendable family roots.

    We are so sad and sorry to have no more fun times with Uncle Bill to anticipate. Uncle Bill and Aunt Margaret were always so loving to us « young » folks and we treasure all of the lunches and mugs of tea we shared. We both wish there could have been more of them!
