End-of-year giving makes a difference for local charities

If you’re feeling flush after the holidays, it’s a great time of year to donate to local charities. They count on your donations to plan their services for the coming year, and you get a 2016 tax receipt to offset your taxes for the coming season.

Here are some local organizations that always appreciate a helping hand:

Children’s Foundation of Muskoka provides funds for recreational, educational, cultural, medical and emotional needs and opportunities for families in need

Community Living Huntsville advocates for an inclusive community and supports people with developmental disabilities

The Door Youth Centre provides social and developmental activities to youth aged 12-18

Dwight Friends of the Library provides library materials, programs and services in our neighbouring community of Dwight

Hospice Huntsville provides end-of-life care and support for individuals and their families

Huntsville Animal Wellness Fund provides financial assistance to pet owners experiencing hardship

Huntsville Festival of the Arts promotes the arts and provides educational opportunities for students

Huntsville Hospital Foundation supports healthcare at our local hospital

Huntsville Legion provides support and services for veterans. Call 705-789-4641 or email [email protected].
