Andrew Hind, posted this photo on the Almaguin Highlands Vintage Photography.

According to Hind, who said he will include a chapter about the general store in his book, Founded on Stone: Tales of Early Parry Sound District Vol. 4, the D.S. in the Vincent name stands for Daniel Sagar. According to Hind, he was born in 1864 in Schomberg, Ontario, and was a modest labourer throughout his twenties. “He may have remained as such had he and his wife Minnie Mable Taplin not elected to make the move to Emsdale around 1890. Here, D.S. re-invented himself as a successful merchant,” he writes.
Apparently, he was still running the store when he passed away in 1920.
