CACHE LAKE CUTIE $199,000

Situated down the east arm of Cache Lake, Algonquin Park, this cottage plus bunkie enjoys complete privacy, surrounded by nothing but rock and forest on all sides. Views of rock cliffs and red and white pines give a true feeling of the North and the natural beauty that defines Algonquin Park.

This leasehold cottage is a 10 minute boat ride from the landing/parking area or can be accessed by foot along the old rail line in approximately 30 minutes. It is a rustic getaway with no hydro or running water, with a woodstove to keep things cozy, propane lights, a brand new top-of-the-line propane fridge/freezer and propane cooktop and bbq.

The main cottage is compact yet functional with kitchen, dining area, 2 small pine lined bedrooms and a newer, large master bedroom addition, plus a glassed-in Muskoka room across the lakefront. Additional buildings include an awesome screened building – perfect to hang out or sleep out away from the bugs and elements. There is also a large storage building which would lend itself well to being used as additional living space. Screened outhouse is in good shape for when nature calls.

Good dock space is where you will spend the majority of your summer days enjoying the solitude and views or having a fire in the screened fire pit and watching the stars.

Cache Lake is a jumping off point to paddle routes in the interior and also home to Bartlett Lodge where you can enjoy an amazing meal just a short paddle or boat ride away. 22.8 kilometres of rocky shores and mixed forest are home to a few rustic cottages, a couple of small summer camps and great fishing spots. With a lake depth reaching over 100’ at its deepest, fish for lake trout, small mouth bass and yellow perch. Visit the dam at the east end of the lake or go for a hike on the old rail line. Nearby, find the excellent mountain biking/cross country skiing Minesing Trail and the Old Railway Bike Trail which offers family friendly biking and skiing.

Algonquin Park is home to approximately 300 leasehold cottages which have historically seen lease renewals every 21 years. Leases are being renewed in 2018 through 2038. Lease fees apply. This is a gorgeous clean lake with a maximum 20HP restriction. No Seadoos, no waterskiing; just peace and quiet and cottaging as it once was.
