Driver gets charged with impaired after attending OPP detachment about unrelated incident

On May 29, 2024, at approximately 9:15 p.m., a driver attended the Almaguin OPP Detachment for an unrelated incident. While speaking to the driver regarding the original investigation, Almaguin OPP officers say they noted signs of impairment.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, a 40-year-old female of Armour Township was charged with:

• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

• Operation while impaired – alcohol

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge at a later date to answer to the charges.

The OPP remains committed to ensuring Ontario roads are safe from drug-impaired and alcohol-impaired drivers. If you plan on consuming drugs or alcohol, please arrange a safe ride home. If you suspect someone to be operating a motor vehicle while impaired, please call 9-1-1.
