Drive Muskoka annual tent sale raises $12,000 for Huntsville Hospital Foundation

Submitted by Huntsville Hospital Foundation

Since 2015 the annual Drive Muskoka Tent Event has continued to raise much-needed funds for Huntsville Hospital.

This year, they have successfully raised another $12,000 to support lifesaving equipment at Huntsville Hospital.

For the past seven years, every August, $100 from each vehicle sold is donated to the buyer’s choice of hospital between Huntsville Hospital Foundation, South Muskoka Hospital Foundation, and West Parry Sound Health Centre. What a wonderful way to support all three hospitals in our area! This community fundraising event has raised $85,312 for Huntsville Hospital since it first started in 2015.

Owner, Jason Armstrong told the Foundation, “The team at the Drive Muskoka dealerships are very proud to have the support of the community with our annual endeavour to support our local Hospitals. We couldn’t be happier that we can donate to our Hospital again this year.”

There were many happy customers who drove away with new vehicles and felt good about supporting their local hospital at the same time.

Roz Barden told the Foundation, “I was very pleased when I bought my Odyssey Touring from Huntsville Honda to know that a $100 donation was being made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. This is a local charity that I personally have supported many times before.  When you donate to your local hospital, you make an investment in your own future health care. Huntsville Hospital has provided excellent care for all members of my family over the years. So, I am going to match Huntsville Honda’s $100 donation to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation and I challenge all other car buyers during the Drive for Your Hospital Tent Event to do the same.”

Another happy Drive Muskoka customer, Judith Braun said, “As a resident of Huntsville and a Registered Nurse with the AFHT Geriatric Care Team supporting seniors in our community, I know firsthand just how important our local hospital is. Knowing I could do my part to support the work done by the amazing staff everyday felt like a win-win! Purchasing my new vehicle during the ‘Annual Tent Event’, gave me the opportunity to support our hospital as well as Huntsville Honda and their ongoing efforts to give back to our community. Over the years they have provided me with reliable and affordable transportation that allows me to continue to provide care in the community.”

Katherine Craine, executive director of Huntsville Hospital Foundation explained, “It’s so fabulous that Jason Armstrong and employees of the three dealerships are so dedicated to Huntsville hospital. I hope that they along with their customers are very proud of this terrific initiative that takes place every August. The funds raised will assist our hospital in purchasing new diagnostic equipment that we have committed to funding over the next three years in our Focus on Imaging campaign. On behalf of our community, our board, hospital staff and physicians, thank you!”
