The Cross-Country Muskoka Special-Olympics athletes are celebrating a terrific culmination to the ski season.

Athletes from Muskoka and the surrounding area competed in a variety of cross-country ski races in Parry Sound on Saturday, March 9th, for a race qualifier.

All athletes had great finishes, ranging from 1st to 4th place. Race included the 100 m, 500m, and 1km sprints.  Other races included a 2.5km and a 5 km race.

The coaches congratulate all athletes for their outstanding efforts. Head Coach Cindy Blake and the assistant coaches are all very proud of this group of athletes.

To end the year, the athletes and the coaches enjoyed a hike at Arrowhead Provincial Park on Sunday, March 29, and enjoyed a pizza party to conclude the cross-country ski season.

The athletes and coaches are grateful to Arrowhead Provincial Park for their ongoing support with the Muskoka Special Olympics Cross-Country Ski Program. They also thank all guardians for their support.  The coaches are all so proud of each and every athlete who came out this season (even those who were unable to attend the race, Carla and Johnathan)! The coaches wish you all the best in your next adventure, and look forward to seeing you back in the fall of 2025 for Dry-Land Training!
