Last week students at Riverside Public School took some time away from their regular classroom work to celebrate Colour Week. Their goal was to bring the school together as much as possible to celebrate differences and to strengthen their sense of community.
Senior Riverside School students Jamie Waller and Lauren Robinson took some time out of the busy pancake breakfast preparations to speak to Doppler about Colour Week. According to Jamie and Lauren, each day the students celebrated a different colour palette and engaged in activities such as reading aloud to younger students, creating rainbow art, and dancing outside. The week ended with a school-wide pancake breakfast put on by the grade 7 and 8 students.
