Ten craft breweries, 35 craft beers and ciders, seven bands, two stages…the inaugural Muskoka 2/4 Craft Beer Festival is shaping up to be a beer-lovers dream.
Hosted by the Downtown Huntsville Business Improvement Association (BIA) in partnership with the Town of Huntsville, Huntsville Rotary Club and the Huntsville Festival of the Arts, the Beer Festival is an afternoon to celebrate craft beer, yes, but also the opening of the new River Mill Park Bandshell and the kick-off to summer in Muskoka.
Attendees will each receive a keepsake sample mug for tasting the wares of the vendors: Barnstormer Brewing, Beau’s Brewery, Brickworks Ciderhouse, Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery, Highlander Brew Co., Lake of Bays Brewing Company, Mill Street Brewery, Muskoka Brewery, Redline Brewery, Sawdust City Brewing Co., and Thornbury Village Brewery and Cidery. Sample tickets are $2 apiece.
A variety of local food vendors will also be onsite: Belly Ice Cream, D-Man’s Burgers, Louis II Restaurant, Muskoka North Good Food Co-op, Seven Main Café, Spring Farmer, and Totem Juice.
Festival-goers can enjoy live entertainment all afternoon on both the new River Mill Rotary Bandshell and the smaller NyDock stage, including Tobin Spring and La Ganza, Juan Barbosa, Shane Connon, Paul Lagendyk, Cameron of Lochiel Pipes and Drums, and a special musical performance by MP Tony Clement and the Funky Fisher Brothers.
The Muskoka 2/4 Craft Beer Festival is Saturday, May 21 in River Mill Park from 12-6pm. Advance tickets are $15.00, available online at algonquintheatre.ca or from Treasures and Trophies on Main Street, or $20 at the gate for attendees of legal drinking age who will be issued wristbands; 13-18 year olds can watch the live music for $10; 12 and under are free. All proceeds from this event will go the Chrysalis Women’s Shelter in Huntsville.
Volunteer greeters, ID checkers, ticket sellers (must be Smart Serve certified), and roamers are still needed for the festival for two shifts from 11:30am-3pm and 2:30-6:30pm. Volunteers will receive free entry to the event but cannot consume alcohol during their shift. Contact Kate Austin at [email protected] for details.
