At the Dwight Winter Carnival pancake breakfast yesterday, Cathy Nystrom was awarded the Bob Palmer Memorial Award for Outstanding Community Service.
Nystrom’s roots on Lake of Bays are deep – her family settled on Seabreeze Road in 1907. Cathy has been a pillar of the Lake of Bays community all her life, selflessly dedicating her personal time helping the community through outstanding community service and humanitarian deeds.
Cathy Nystrom’s compassion and humanitarianism is an inspiration to all in the community. She has dedicated her time to countless charities, and is a dedicated, selfless volunteer and community builder. Her exceptional contributions to Dwight and area through her substantial and varied volunteer service and humanitarian aid to others embodies the principles and spirit of the Bob Palmer Award for exceptional community service.

During the 16 years that I was chairperson of the Animal Shelter for Huntsville, Cathy contributed countless hours of volunteerism as well as significant donations. She never faltered in her support.
