Thumbs up seniors

CARP Muskoka comes to Huntsville tonight (June 15)

The Muskoka chapter of CARP (Canadian Association of Retired Persons) will hold its first Huntsville meeting tonight (June 15). CARP Muskoka seeks to ensure the local marketplace serves the needs and expectations of people who are 45+ as they age and provides value-added benefits, products and services to its members.

Not merely a social club, the chapter focuses on the national issues of health, pension reform, senior rights, ageism, financial security and elder abuse prevention, and local issues of financial security, shopping locally, health in general, our hospitals and the continuing health care resources, transportation and nutrition.

There are just under 1200 CARP members in the Muskoka area; the chapter’s goal is 5,000 members within 5 years.

For more information, contact CARP Muskoka at 705-645-0007.
