good business is good for everyone:

Thirteen was Jonathan Wolfe’s lucky number today. That number was drawn by Mayor Scott Aitchison in F.C. Hammond Well Drilling’s annual well draw, winning Wolfe the value of the well he had installed on his Utterson property last year.

This is the eighth year that company owners Norm and Jeff Yearley have given one of their customers from the previous year back the cost of their well. Wolfe’s was one of 105 wells drilled by the company last year. It’s a fun way for the company to give back and kick off a new year.

Last year’s winner, Gord Cook of Port Carling, donated a portion of his win back to two local charities – Hospice Huntsville and the Legion’s Poppy Fund.

F.C. Hammond’s founder, Frank Hammond, was Huntsville’s first well driller. The family sold the company to Norm Yearley, who has more than 30 years of experience in the industry, in 2005. His son, Jeff, later joined him in the business.
